In this Victorian home, we reimagined the kitchen as a warm, layered, modern-traditional heart of the home. By enlarging the space and adding an island and built-in eating area, the layout now flows effortlessly while accommodating the daily life of a young family. A walnut island anchors the room, complemented by a plaster range hood and a built-in display niche for cherished plates, marrying classic details with a clean, modern sensibility. We even managed to sneak in a small powder bath under the stairs. The result is a space that feels inviting, functional, and timeless — a kitchen that balances the charm of the home’s history with the needs of a growing family.
